Talking Therapy (Psychotherapy / Counselling)

Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues. Counselling can take different forms depending on your needs and what type of therapy may be suitable.

At Metanoia Catherine works with clients using a variety of tools, techniques and is flexible in her approach which always ensures the client is supported, cared for, heard and respected.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and are on a weekly or bi-weekly basis (this can be flexible depending on agreement with the client and therapist in advance).

Sessions can be delivered in person or online or telephone. we offer flexibility to ensure we accessibility for all clients. we want to ensure that the service is supportive, encouraging and safe for all clients to access and we will work with you to best achieve an environment and approach that allows this.

Most clients require 6-12 sessions but some will request and require more sessions and this is dependent on the individuals needs, wants and the challenges we are supporting and working through. some clients enjoy a longer therapeutic relationship while others just want it to be focused for set periods of time. Catherine always offers a transparent treatment plan and check in with the client regularly in sessions on progress made and possible next steps needed for them. Catherine recognizes that we are all unique and we can support you with this. We focus on providing ethical, fair and cost effective support to all clients who need it.

All sessions are confidential and Catherine is bound by a code of ethics and client confidentiality. this will be discussed with you in full before therapy commences.



 

hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can be offered to clients to support their counselling sessions or it can be delivered and offered as a stand alone service to clients upon request and following consultation.

Hypnotherapy employs the use of hypnosis (an altered state of consciousness) to help facilitate behavioral and emotional change.

Sessions tend to be 50 minutes in length and a hypnotherapy course and treatment on average can be 3-6 sessions for most clients. However some issues such as stop smoking can be supported in one extended time one off sessions. Some clients with certain conditions (pain management or Anxiety for example) sometimes opt to do longer courses of hypnotherapy on a regular basis and Catherine can be flexible to support this. Catherine can offer you a range of flexible options to suit you and your needs.

Hypnotherapy is best delivered face to face but some cases can be managed online.
